Call in to see what options we have on offer for you.

    CATARACT - What is it?

A cataract is a clouding of the clear lens in the eye and is one of the leading causes of vision impairment. While cataracts most commonly occur in those who are older, they can develop in younger people as well. Some people are born with a cataract.

    Our news - October 2017

It's Spring time, here are a few ideas to care for your vision this spring:
The the days are getting longer and sun can make driving a challenge, Polarised sunglasses will help reduce the brightness and glare that causes you to squint while driving.

As the blossoms bloom so to does the hayfever season. Your eyes might actually water more than normal as they try to make enough tears to combat the pollen in the air. Learn more about watery eyes, and talk to your optometrist about the products available to suit your needs. Your doctor can suggest treatment and prevention options, including tips for your eye health.

Health fund entitlements - HICAPS instant rebates

Many of our patients have private health insurance, with most having optical extras cover. However, not all are aware of their health fund entitlements.

    How often can I claim?

Most health funds permit one full spectacle claim within a 12 month period, usually January to December. Unused benefits are not usually carried over from year to year. Hence if you don't use it, you lose it.

How do I claim for optical extras?

Easy - we can do it for you. As an approved practice, we have installed an electronic funds transfer system (HICAPS). This acts as an instant claim office for most health funds and enables the automatic transfer of your rebate to our practice which reduces or eliminates your payment to us, depending on your frame and lens selection.
